The world has plenty of beautiful branches for us to use all year long! So follow me tp know bout how to make an extraordinary foraged fall wreath. We’re all in love with fall, a time of year that brings with it the cooler weather and changing leaves that are so often linked to pumpkin spice everything. But while most people think of apple cider when they think of the season, I’m more partial to another autumnal indulgence: branches. When I see my favorite coffee shop is selling maple lattes, I know it’s time to start working on wreaths. Yes, you read that right. Branches and wreaths typically conjure up images of Christmas decorations and other yuletide items, but why should those have the monopoly?
Learn how to make a gorgeous fall wreath using natural materials
Making your own wreath for fall is a great way to make use of the natural materials you have on hand. Not only will you have plenty of time to enjoy the beauty of nature, but you’ll also be able to make an extra special wreath for your home! So grab a pair of scissors and some twine (or other string), and let’s get started!
- First, find or gather some fall-themed materials. You want something that has a bit of color as well as texture—this will help give your wreath some visual interest while also giving it that “fall” feel. Some ideas include acorns, pinecones, leaves (both dried or fresh), apples (dried or fresh), berries, etc.
- Next lay out all the pieces so they’re organized by color and type in rows across your workspace area like in this photo:
- Once everything’s laid out nice and neat like this…you’ll want to start piecing them together into circles with twine or another similar string material
Also, keep in mind that there are many poisonous plants out there. So if you are unsure about a certain leaf or flower, leave it alone!
And don’t get distracted by all sorts of interesting-looking branches – they can be toxic too!
Finally, do not use any materials if they could harm animals or children when touched (or eaten). The same goes for any possible environmental damage caused by these materials being used as wreath decorations (e.g., damaging fragile ecosystems).
Now, assemble your wreath!
Now you’re ready to assemble your wreath! To do this, you’ll need a glue gun and the materials from your Foraged Fall Wreath kit.
- First, determine how many of each kind of material you want to use for your wreath. The more types of items included, the more interesting it will be because there will be a variety of textures and colors.
- Once you have determined how many pieces you would like to include in your design, arrange them on the surface of the wreath so that they are spaced evenly apart from each other and look visually pleasing together. If necessary, rearrange them until they look good before gluing them down so they won’t move while working with hot glue sticks!
- Once everything looks good and solidified into a place where it belongs (which should take around ten minutes), use a glue gun with white-hot sticks applied throughout its length along with plenty extra sticks on standby in case anything happens during assembly which might cause some work stoppage due to misalignment issues (like when two pieces don’t fit together correctly).
Last, make it look pretty.
Now that you’ve got your foraged fall wreath, it’s time to make it look pretty.
To do so: First, add decorative elements like ribbon or wire. Then hang a bow from the top of your wreath (or all around the perimeter) and tie another bow at the bottom of your wreath. If you want even more bows, add them to one side of your wreath, or in the middle and/or on the backside. Or just add them everywhere!
Conclusion
